Donate as you shop - without spending any extra!

With over 6,000 stores!

The Romney Marsh Historic Churches Trust has joined thousands of other charities on the Give As you Live fundraising platform. This means anybody with a free Give As You Live account can now opt to donate a small amount to the Trust every time they shop online - with over 6,000 stores involved. Best of all, it doesn’t cost the customer an extra penny!

How does it work?

The retailers pay Give As You Live a small amount for directing shoppers to their website, and then the donation is passed on to the customer’s chosen charity.

How much do they donate?

Each retailer sets its own donation amount. For a £100 shop with Sainsbury’s, for example, they will donate up to 7.5%, meaning a donation to the Trust of £7.50 - without costing the customer anything extra.

Over 6,000 stores use the platform, including major retailers such as Tesco, M&S, Waitrose, John Lewis, ebay, Booking.com, Just Eat, Boots, Argos, Trainline and thousands more.

Is it really worth it?

Even at just a few pence or pounds each time, the amounts could soon add up - especially if the Trust’s 1,000 members get involved. We’ll see the most impact on more expensive items, such as holidays booked through Booking.com - they’ll donate 2% of a transaction. As you soak up the sunshine you can feel pleased that your holiday is helping to support the Romney Marsh churches.

Even a Friday night takeaway booked through Just Eat will result in a 0.5% donation - making your curry or pizza even more satisfying!

When will the Trust receive the donation?

Donations are passed to the Trust every three months, provided a minimum of £15 has been earned, otherwise donations roll over to the next payment date.

How do I sign up?

It takes second to set up a free account using your email address, Facebook account or Apple login.

There is even an optional plugin for your web browser which prompts you to donate when you shop! What an ingenious way to raise funds for great causes. Since 2005, Give As You Live has raised over £31m for UK charities.
