JAM On The Marsh 2023

JAM on the Marsh festival returns 4-16 July 2023, bringing arts and music to the medieval churches on Romney Marsh. For this 10th edition of the festival, expect outstanding music, outdoor theatre, poetry, exhibitions and more.

New Festival Curator, Nicholas Cleobury brings firsts to Kent’s favourite festival: The Joe Stilgoe Trio will guarantee fun and frivolity; A Day in Paris features some of the greatest French music of the 20th century to Hythe; the whole Marsh community is invited to take part in the world premiere of a Community Oratorio, The Sky Engine; Craig Ogden (guitarist) performs in the intimate St. Clement’s church at Old Romney; and the 50th anniversary of Nöel Coward’s death will be marked with a lunch with Coward’s biographer, Oliver Soden and an afternoon of songs and stories.

Changeling Theatre opens the festival bringing productions of Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost and Sheridan’s School for a Scandal. Then expect event after stimulating event to come hot on each other’s heels including: the Sacconi Quartet with former Festival Curator, Anna Tilbrook; exhibitions include photography from Wendy Carrig and mixed media art by France Tetreault; The University of Delaware Chorale, one of the best choirs from the USA; the music of Max Jaffa, performed by Simon Blendis; and London Mozart Players performing works by Barber, Vaughan-Williams and Tippett.

Full event details have now been announced on the JAM On The Marsh website and tickets are selling fast.
